| Quote-Unquote |
"Paintings fascinated me from my very childhood. I used to doodle with paints and brushes then. Now my life gravitates around painting alone. Sometimes I have to paint to eke out a living but most often an inner compulsive force tries to surface through paints and I am compelled to express it. Probably because of this, I have not been able to adhere to a particular mode of expression. The self has probably changed over the years and so the modes of expression. Though at present I paint in transparent water colour, I am not fastidions about the medium. It is ultimately, the expression that counts. Mundane events and people around me whom I encounter everyday interest me much. But my experience comes into my painting after being filtered through dreams. Pain hopelessness, depression, loneliness return to my paintings again and again. Probably because of this, black and blue and coloured greys dominate my paintings."
