We
think that to report what has been actually seen, what
has been said, what has been heard is Truth. This is
not the value of Truth. Truth is changeless. It is one,
not two, though it takes the forms of many.
God
is the inner truth in everything and every being.
He is Truth. He is Wisdom. He is Eternal.
Truth
has no limitations of time and space. It is changeless.
Man
seeks truth, because his very nature is derived from
God. Names and forms of people are different; but the
spark of Satchitanand is the same in everyone.
See
all as expressions of the same God, as appearances on
the same screen, as bulbs lit by the same current though
of manifold colours and wattage. Feel that you and they
are able to walk, talk, think and act because of the
God within.
Though
only Brahman exists, it appears to be many. The rope
is always the rope. It does not become the garland,
or the streak of water or the creeper or the snake.
The pot is clay, whatever be its shape, form or name.
Without clay there can be no pot. Similarly, without
God there can be no universe.
Without
fragmenting himself, the divine is present in all beings.
The Sun's image can be seen in an ocean, a river, a
lake, a pond or a well. Everywhere the Sun appears to
be shining. The objects are different; the Sun is one.
The
mind should be single-pointed in order to see the Truth.
It should be pointed towards the One.
This
can be done by constant repetition of a name of God
and the visualization of the Form represented by the
name.
The
other method is meditation. There can be meditation
on the jyoti or light. We visualize the candle
flame illuminating the body from within. We imagine
the flame lighting up more and more people, then all
animate and inanimate things in the world and then the
whole universe till we see only light everywhere.
For
Man, the Truth is that he is not the body. Nor is he
the senses, the mind or the intelligence. He knows that
he is the user, owner and master of these. It is the
"I" who is the Atma.
With
each breath we should ask,'Who am I?' Then mentally
affirm with each breath,'Soham...I am God.'
Always
say to yourself:
"I
am God. I am not different from God.
I
am the Indivisible Supreme Absolute.
| Grief
and anxiety can never affect me. |
| I
am ever content. Fear can never enter me". |
Speaking
the Truth is easy. If you lie, you have to keep
| count
of your lies, remember what you have said to whom and
be on alert not to contradict yourself. Speak softly,
sweetly and truthfully. Both unpleasant truth and pleasant
truth have to be avoided. You cannot always oblige, but
you can speak softly. |
